Iceland

We visited Iceland as part of a layover with London. Iceland is awesome and full of amazing and unique landscapes. We mainly explored the southern coast of Iceland over 5 days but definitely want to go back to see the rest of it. Personal highlights included the black sand beach, glacier lagoon, ice cave tour, and vestrahorn.

Although food was really expensive, I enjoyed Icelandic food over traditional British food. The hot dogs, lamb/shellfish soups, langoustine, and rye bread were realllyy good.

Icelandic weather is crazy. We drove through at least 5 flash blizzards only to reach our stop and have sunny skies. We learned from our flight that Iceland is the third windiest place on earth; and the first two are uninhabited. We had a mishap our second to last day as a blizzard rolled in and made road conditions pretty bad. We were going to visit the Snaefellsnes Peninsula but ended up exploring the city. Other than that, we had a blast in Iceland and definitely want to go back again someday.
